Senior Meet & Greet Drive-Thru
250 seniors participated in our Senior Meet & Greet Drive-Thru held on the grounds of the Lou Walker Senior Center. Each senior was presented with a PPE Kit, senior literature including the COVID-19 Resource Guide and a snack bag. All expressed how much they missed coming to the center and their daily interactions with the members and staff. One member indicated that just being able to see the building really made her day. This is a testament to the importance of the work we do and the overwhelmingly positive impact that the center and its programming has on the lives of our seniors.
Special thanks to the staff who stuffed the bags and participated in the drive-thru. Prentiss and Officers Ross and Olu did an exceptional job in keeping the traffic flowing. Of course we could not have done it without our sponsors DeKalb for Seniors, Inc. and AKA representative Marcia Glenn Hunter who provided snacks for the seniors and Kaiser Permanente’s Christel Finley who provided 300 face masks.
